DirectAccess connectivity assistant - not applicable

Question
-
hello,
I wanted to add DirectAccess connectivity assistant to a computer. I tried Windows 7 Ultimate, and Windows Server 2012 with no success, i'm still having the error message " This update is not applicable".
However My computer isn't joined yet to the domain, is my problem related?
EDIT: FYI I'm trying to install DCA2 on Virtual Machines...- Edited by Jean Marnier Friday, June 27, 2014 5:36 PM

DirectAccess will only work for domain joined computers (the DirectAccess settings are applied by Group Policy).
Is your DirectAccess server running on Windows 2012/2012 R2? If so check your DirectAccess client is a member of the domain and is in the appropriate groups. Ensure you have un-ticked "Enable DirectAcces for mobile computers only" in the DirectAccess wizard.
If thats all setup it should get all of its settings from GPO automatically.

The DirectAccess Connectivity Assistant will not install on Windows 8/2012. The functionality is built into the OS.
It is supported on Windows 7 Ultimate edition. Maybe its already installed but not configured?

Oh, I understand...
I'll try with a Windows Server 2012 then. What is the workflow then to enable the DirectAccess connectivity?
Add the WS2012 computer in the domain? And is it all? GPO will be pushed automatically, and the computer will active it while outside of the local network?
Thank you :)
