Windows Embedded Compact is a set of tools and technologies that you can use to create real time, componentized, small footprint operating systems for smart, connected devices. Windows Embedded Compact 7 is the latest generation of Windows Embedded CE. Compact 7 general availability was announced on March 1st, 2011.
