MAP Toolkit: Increasing the SQL Database Timeout Value

MAP Toolkit: Increasing the SQL Database Timeout Value

If MAP is taking too long or fails at the assessment stage, you may want to increase the timeout value for the database.

To increase the MAP SQL database timeout value:

  1. Exit MAP
  2. Open the AppConifgInfo.xml file
    • Located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit\bin
  3. Modify the SqlCommandTimeout value from 1800 to another value. I.e. changing the value from 1800 to 21600 will change the timeout from 30 minutes to 6 hours.
  4. Restart MAP and try running Tools > Refresh Inventory Assessment again.
