Hyper-V on Windows Server 8 has a lot of exciting news (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831410.aspx). The Hyper-V role enables you to create and manage a virtualized computing environment by using virtualization technology that is built in to Windows Server “8” Beta. Do the following basic steps to install Hyper-V role: Open Server Manager > Manager > Add Roles and Features. In the Select installation type page, select Role-based or feature-based installation. In the Select destination server page, select Select a server from the server pool and select your destination server under SERVER POOL. In the Select server roles page, select Hyper-V. You will be prompted to install required tools. You don’t have to install those tools on the same server though. The following tools will be added
Skip the Select feature page. In the Hyper-V page, read carefully what Microsoft recommends especially the Things to note section. In the Create Virtual Switches page, select the network adapters you want to use on such a virtualization environment. In the Virtual Machine Migration page, Microsoft lets you know that Hyper-V can be configured to send and receive live migration of virtual machines on this server. Select Allow this server to send and receive live migration of virtual machines. After selecting, you have two authentication protocol options:
In the Default Stores page, select properly storage you want to store virtual hard disk files and virtual machine configuration files. Make sure your storage has enough capacity. In the Confirm installation selections page, select Restart the destination server automatically if required. Also, use PowerShell Install-WindowsFeature –Name Hyper-V -ComputerName <-IncludeManagementTools -Restart
