SharePoint 2010: Data Refresh Failed: "String was not recognized as a valid DateTime" (PowerPivot)

SharePoint 2010: Data Refresh Failed: "String was not recognized as a valid DateTime" (PowerPivot)

Issue

When clicking on “Manage Refresh”, you can see the scheduled refreshes are succeeding. However, when you click on "Schedule Refresh…", a Correlation ID (different each time) is thrown.

If "Enable" has not been checked, you are able to enter the "Schedule Refresh…" screen.

  • KiwiDave63,

    On the server running PowerPivot.

Go to Control Panel > Region & Language > Formats Tab > Additional Settings > Time Tab

Look at "AM symbol:" and "PM symbol".  If they are lower case, youu can change them to:

    “AM symbol” to A.M.

    “PM symbol” to P.M.

  • I was so excited to see someone else had this issue but the workaround does not work for me.  I have changed the region of the master site and the sub-site to both be EN-US without any success.  Just wondering if the locale of the server running sharepoint or database or user scheduling comes into play?   I am in AU/NZ with dd/mm/yy dates.
