Managing a WDS Server Remotely


If you want to manage Windows Deployment Services on a remote server, you can install the Remote Server Administration Tools. To do this, open Server Manager, right-click the Features node, click Add Features, and locate Remote Server Administration Tools. This will install WDSUTIL (a utility to manage WDS from command-line) and the Windows Deployment Services MMC snap-in on the server.









Now the Windows Deployment Services MMC has been installed on the desired server. At this time, you should add the WDS Server to the console. Look at the following figures:







Please note that you can also use wdsutil tool to remotely manage a WDS server through command-line. Look at the following example:
