Problem report

This section provides users a way to report any errors they encounter while using ADREPLSTATUS.

Problem description including OS + SP version of the client computer, repro steps, on-screen errors and, optionally, email contact info.

Version of ADREPLSTATUS as reported by the startup splash screen.

Status

Unable to install app.  Windows 2012 server standard RTM.  Double click on setup.exe and allow the UAC prompt.  Setup then runs for about 2 seconds and leaves the screen and nothing is installed.   (Event log shows that the installation took less than one second and  result is. (Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: AD Replication Status Tool 1.0. Product Version: 2.2.20717.1. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.)

Unable to get to splash screen.

We cannot reproduce this. ADREPLSTATUS should install on Windows Server 2012.

Feature request: ability to run adreplstatus from command line, and export csv/html if there are any errors (and set exit code).  This would be useful for monitoring scripts.

 2.2.20717.1

 Reported to feature team

Feature request: version number should appear in Help/About in addition to splash screen

  • I installed on a new 2008 R2 server and it indicated it required .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, so I installed it and then it said it needed  .NET Framework 4.0, so I installed it. The tool help says  .NET Framework 4.0 is required, so I assume that if I had installed that I might not have needed 3.5 SP1 and saved a step. Fix the tool to indicate the correct version to install up front or correct the help to indicate you need both if that is required. Tool worked fine.

  • Thanks for the feedback kenrury. The download page indicates that .Net Framework 3.5 maybe be required. We will update the Help topic to reflect this too.

  • One of our domain controllers is currently offline. When I choose only this one DC the tool reports an error, but I cannot go to the Replication Error Guide. When I choose a second DC as additional target it works. Unfortunately this is actually the only "replication error" in our forest :-) so I dont know how the tool works when choosing one single target DC that is online but has a real repl issue.

    Cool tool.

  • Me too - Unable to install app.  Windows 2012 server standard RTM. WS2012 upgraded from WS2008R2 Std. .NET 3.5 and 4.5 installed. Double click on setup.exe and allow the UAC prompt.  Setup then runs for about 2 seconds and leaves the screen and nothing is installed.

  • Singing Wayne, thanks for the comment. Are all DCs online now and are you able to access the error guidance? Do you receive an error when you try to access the guide? Are you running adreplstatus tool from an administrative workstation or directly on a DC? Any repro steps you can provide would be helpful.
