Your computer is running slowly, which is causing poor audio quality. You may have too many applications running at the same time on your computer.


Try the following:

  • Close a few unnecessary applications.
  • Make sure your computer’s device drivers are current.
  • Make sure the device you are using is optimized for Lync 2010. For a list of optimized devices, see Phones and Devices Qualified for Microsoft Lync.
  • If the problem persists, transfer the call to a mobile phone or landline. To transfer a call, in the Lync conversation window, click the Transfer button, and then do one of the following:
    • Click one of your other numbers (such as your mobile phone number).
    • Click Another Person or Number. In the dialog box, type the phone number you want to transfer the call to, and then click OK.
