The Difference Between Installing Visual Studio 2012 Silently on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

The Difference Between Installing Visual Studio 2012 Silently on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

When trying to install Visual Studio 2012 silently on Windows 7, you propably will get a success quite early, altough it takes around 30 minutes for one installation try.

But if you try to install Visual Studio 2012 on the Win Server 2008 with the same script you just used on Win7, it looks like Visual Studio has been installed on your OS, but you can't find it anywhere.

This is most likely the reason of the .Net Framework Version. When installing on Win7, VS automatically installs .Net Framework 4.5 if not already installed. On the server, it ignores it, meaning you have to install it on your own. .Net Framework 4.5 ONLY gets installed on Win7 when installing VS12 and no others. So this issue could also happen on any other OS'.
