FIM CM 2010 FAQ

FIM CM 2010 FAQ

1. Where can I find the FIM CM documentation?

You can find the FIM CM documentation in the Certificate Management under the Forefront Identity Manager 2010 section on the TechNet Library.

2. Does FIM CM support managing certificates between two or more (multiple) forests?

At this time FIM CM does not support multiple forest scenarios.

3. Where is the FAQ document for FIM 2010?

The FIM FAQ document can be found on the TechNet Wiki under FIM FAQ Collection

4. Is Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) 2010 supported on FIM CM 2010?

No, not at this time.

5. Is SQL Server 2008 R2 supported for the FIM CM database?

Yes, as of FIM 2010 Update 1 (build 4.0.3531.2).

6. Is SQL Server 2005 supported for the FIM CM database?

No and testing for this platform is not anticipated.

7. Can I modify fields in the FIM CM Web Portal?

Modifying the FIM CM user interface is not supported and therefore specific directions for doing so will not be provided by Microsoft.

8. How do I configure FIM CM 2010 to recognize Cryptography Next Generation (CNG) certificate templates?

CNG templates are not supported by FIM CM 2010.

 9. How do I upgrade Certificate Lifecycle Manager 2007 (CLM) to FIM CM 2010?

Upgrading from CLM to FIM CM is not supported because CLM Feature Pack (FP1) is supported only on 32-bit platforms and FIM CM is only supported on 64-bit platforms. You can export the CLM 2007 database and re-use it in a new FIM CM deployment.
