Un volume può essere eliminato dallo snap-in Disk Management o dalla linea di comando. L'eliminazione di un volume cancella permanentemente i dati in esso memorizzati.


Nella console Disk Management, fare clic con il tasto destro sul volume e fare quindi click su Delete Volume. Guardare l'esempio seguente:

Dal prompt di DISKPART>, elencare i volumi presenti con il comando list volume, selezionare il volume ed eseguire il comando delete volume. Guardare l'esempio seguente:
