Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit

Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit

The MAP Toolkit is used for multi-product assessment and planning. It assesses a network environment using agentless data collection technologies to gather inventory and performance information. Then provides assessment reports and executive proposals with recommendations to aid organizations with their IT infrastructure planning.

The main areas of planning covered by MAP:

  • Migration Planning
  • Consolidation/Virtualization
  • Private/Public Cloud Planning
  • Software Usage Tracking

The Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP) is part of the Microsoft Solution Accelerators that provide tested guidance and automated tools to help plan, deploy, and manage new Microsoft technologies. They are all freely available, and fully-supported by Microsoft.
