[Troubleshooting] Installing FIM reporting with warning: “You have entered an invalid System Center Service Management Name”

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Installing the FIM Reporting feature with the FIM Service and Portal, an error is thrown.

ERROR MESSAGE
"You have entered an invalid System Center Service Manager management server name":

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

Ping the server to see if there was a connection (which was successful)
Check to see if the System Center Data Warehouse and Service Manager server have access to the machine we were trying to install on.

CAUSE
Missing perquisite for Server Manager

RESOLUTION
Install the prerequisites
