SharePoint 2013: Search- Displaying results from “Local SharePoint Results” and from “local People Results”

Scenario

If a user makes a generic search for (eg:-India) then search results should display results from “SharePoint Results” as well as displays all the users who have the userprofile location field set to “India”

Prerequisite

A custom field “LocationUser” needs to be created as part of userprofile accustom property attribute. And update few of the user profiles with data for column “LocationUser” and do a full crawl..

Required Configuration

Create a Query rule to pull results from “People Results” and promote the same. As shown in the below diagram in the Query rule set the query test as {?owstaxIdLocationUser:{SearchBoxQuery}}

Where owstaxIdLocationUser is the user profile ‘custom property” which we added via central admin
