To fix constant message “Retrieving media info for an unknown album” in Windows Media Player 12 go through the steps as described below:

1. In the Start Search box type in: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and press the Enter Key.

2. Open Media Player Folder.

3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.

4. Restart WMP12.
