Cause—On Forefront UAG activation, a timeout occurred and the Microsoft Forefront UAG DNS64 (DnsAlgSrv) service was not stopped.

Solution 1—Manually stop the Microsoft Forefront UAG DNS64 service.

  1. At an elevated command prompt, type net stop dnslagsrv.
  2. When the service is stopped successfully, reactivate Forefront UAG.

Solution 2—Check the Windows Event Viewer for any Microsoft Forefront UAG DNS64 (DnsAlgSrv) related events and troubleshoot further.
