Causes

This event is logged when the Microsoft Exchange Transport service stops.

Resolutions

In most cases, this is an informational event that can safely be ignored. However, if you see this event unexpectedly and frequently, it could be an indication of other problems with mail flow in your environment. Check for error and warning events in your event log around this event for additional information.

Start the service

1. On your Exchange Server, open the services applet.
2. Locate the service Microsoft Exchange Transport, and start the service.

Verification

In your event log, look for the event 1001 from the source MSExchange TransportService which would indicate that the service successfully started.
