SharePoint 2010: (SSRS) You Cannot Access Your Web Applications by Using the Server's IP Address


Background:


URLs that use the SharePoint server's IP address instead of the server's computer name may result in a "404 Not Found" error.
 

Workaround:

Add the IP address of the computer as a new internal URL in SharePoint Central Administration Alternate Access Mappings (AAM). The AAM configuration can be found on the Application Management page.

For example, if the computer was named "http://myserver", accessing "http://myserver/site/mysitename" would correctly resolve. However, "http://myserverIPAddress/site/mysitename" would result in a "404 Not Found" error.

You can add a new internal URL for the existing AAM collection named "SharePoint – 80” with URL "http://myserver”.
