When you attempt to view a Reporting Services report in a SharePoint document library you see an error message that resembles the following:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The target location you specified is not supported by the report server. A report definition (.rdl), report model (.smdl), resource, or shared data source (.rds) file must be located in the library or a folder within it. Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ContainerTypeNotSupported
This behavior will occur when a SharePoint site is configured to use Alternate Access Mappings (AAM) but the mappings do not include the host name "localhost" in any of the security zones.
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods:
Richard Mueller edited Revision 4. Comment: Removed (en-US) from title, added tags
Gokan Ozcifci edited Revision 6. Comment: title change
Ed Price MSFT edited Original. Comment: Updated title per style standards.
Craig Lussier edited Revision 2. Comment: added en-US to tags and title
