John Broomfield edited Revision 22. Comment: I am playing with the 2010 version. Can you just change the search URL used in your code from this - "search.twitter.com/search.atom " to this - "twitter.com/search to comply with the new API?

Same thing as Campbell83 - the search does not work and gives a message: "An Exeption occured while searching:.."
For those who are having trouble downloading Twitter data -- please try some different queries (i.e. Microsoft or #sql). Feel free to post the queries that are causing you trouble.
I receive the "an exception occurred" error for any query I try
Getting the following error trying to run the twitter analytics (uses the default search options)
Search Query = @Office
ERROR = "An exception occured while searching: @Office"
What am i doing wrong? does this thing work with the default setup?
Hi Guys! Have been trying this great tool on my laptop and after changing the date format everything works like a charm!
However I wanted to go one step further and deploy this file on a SharePoint where I enabled PowerPivot. I was able to upload the doc but when I connect to it from a client it tells me that some features are not supported and it seems like I can't use the search field and it does not allow external connections. Is there something I can do about it (maybe some SharePoint settings?) or is this the way how PowerPivot for SharePoint works at the moment?
Cheers and keep up the good work!
Michael
An exception occurred while searching?? please help!!! i think it has to be with the date, how can i update the date??
I'm having the same problem as many others with An Exception occured while searching ... I have tried many different kind of search string including the default ones but always the same results. I have used this at another computer while with another company and it worked well there. Would love to have it working
Hi, having trouble with this tool. I downloaded it, and ran it the first time, no problems, returned the results expected. however now every time I run it, it's stuck on the same date range, and I can't change the dates? there's no instruction on how to change the date range, and every time I run it, it's simply pulling the same old data.
This is really brilliant, but I agree that adding the possibility to retrieve number of twitter followers would be a very useful addiction!
What proxy settings should be allowd. I have tried this from home, working find. From the office it doesn't work, what do I need to tell my datacom department?
Can anyone tell me how the GETPIVOTDATA("[Measures].[Maximum of Date 1]",Topics_Pivot!$B$58), "mm/dd/yyyy") works? I just can't figure-out what the "Date 1" element is.
It seems that Twitter is getting serious with its announced API changes as this tool is no longer able to grab any Tweets (It still worked three days ago...).
Can anybody confirm this?
