Might want to split this up some... maybe a Supported table and an Unsupported table?
Let's move the SQL Server supported versions to a different page...
> Windows Server 2008 Standard/Enterprise (with or without SP1)
There's no Windows Server 2008 without SP1. And what about SP2? What about Datacenter SKUs? They are listed for 2000 and 2008 R2 but not listed for 2008 and 2003.
What about 2003 R2? Technically speaking it's all the same as 2003, but from marketing (and some customer) perspective it is different.
Server Core is not a SKU so I think it's not correct to list it among different SKUs. It is an installation option and should be listed separately (specifying appropriate SKUs for both Full and Server Core installations).
“HPC Edition” is also not a SKU. It's a separate product that is actually named “Windows HPC Server” (no “Edition”). Also note that HPC Server 2008 R2 is not shipped yet so you can't support it.
What about Small Business Server, Essential Business Server, Storage Server, Home Server, etc.?
There's no “Windows Vista Home” or “Windows 7 Home”. Do you mean “Home Basic” or “Home Premium”? Windows XP is also not just “Home” but “Home Edition” (in contrast with “Professional”).
Terminal Services is also not a separate SKU. It's just a server role. So I suppose it's better to specify it inline for every Windows Server version.
Hey - thanks Pronichkin! I've added some of the information - and investigating for the remainder of your questions.
Thanks so much for participating!
Nice.. very organize
