Introduction


Windows server family  uses  a server version of antivirus known as Forefront Endpoint Protection. The previous version was known as Forefront Client Security, and in the future will be integrated with System Center, and will be known as System Center Endpoint Protection 2012 .

Although Forefront will run on a desktop computer and is recommended on enterprise scenario, you can make use of Microsoft Security Essentials which is available for free for your personal needs.

Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 is available on this link or you can download   System Center Endpoint Protection 2012   which is now built on System Center Configuration Management 2012.

Installing Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Step-by-step

  1. Mount the endpoint .iso or CD installer
  2. Navigate to the client installer. Choose the appropriate Version of your server – 32 bit or 64 bit.

3.  Run the Client installer FEPInstall.exe

4.  Accept license terms and turn on the windows firewall if applicable.

5.  Click the appropriate options to the install. Click finish to complete installation.
