FIM 2010 – How to validate FIM Service Management Agent Account

The purpose of this document is to provide the steps on how to validate the account that is being used in the FIM Service Management Agent is the account that is specified during the installation.

  1. Go to the machine that you installed the FIM Service.
  2. Open the Windows Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\FIMService.
  4. The account specified in the SynchronizationServiceAccount property is the account mentioned during the installation for the FIM Service Management Agent. 
  5. If the account specified in the SynchronizationServiceAccount property does not match that in the FIM Service Management Agent, then update the FIM Service Management Agent to reflect what is in the Windows Registry.
  6. Click Ok to accept the property change.
  7. You may be prompted to refresh the schema, and say yes to the message to refresh the schema.
