Troubleshooting the Lotus Domino Connector for FIM 2010

This article applies to FIMSync (update 2), which will be further referenced as "sync engine".

Prerequisites

  • The. NET framework 4.0 must be installed.
  • FIM 2010 Update 2 must be installed. This is most likely because the new connector (as we should now call it) uses the (also new) ECMA2-framework, which gives developers more options when it comes to developing a custom connector.
  • The Lotus Notes Client must be installed.

Troubleshooting

You can get the following message when the connector can not connect to Lotus Notes:
< error>The management agent run could not start as there where connection errors.</error>

If the event viewer shows:

"Microsoft.MetadirectoryServices.FailedConnectionException --->
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Retrieving the COM class factory for
component with CLSID {29131539-2EED-1069-BF5D-00DD011186B7} failed due to the following
error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154

This is probably because you have not selected 'X86' as the architecture in the management agent.
You should do this because this is the only mode that the connector supports.

 

If you keep getting this message, restart the create management agent wizard.
