SharePoint 2010 Best Practice: When should you back-up SharePoint via SharePoint Central Administration (SCA)

Normally, back ups or automated using either PowerShell or Stsadm. So when would you perform a back up of SharePoint via SCA?
  • To perform an ad hoc backup.
  • You've allocated the backup to an admin but don't want to allow him to have access to the server, or powershell.
