REFERENCE: How to determine the build of FIM 2010



PURPOSE


The purpose of this wiki is to provide you with information on how to determine the build of FIM 2010.  If the builds are not the same between the different pieces of the FIM solution, then it is very possible that you will see issues in your environment. 

FIM SYNCHRONIZATION SERVICE:


  • Open the Synchronization Service Manager Console
  • From the Help menu, select About
  • What is the version that you are running?
  • Alternatively, you can check the File Version of the MIISERVER.EXE file in %programfiles%\Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Synchronization Service\Bin
    • Simply right mouse click on the file and select Properties and then the Details Tab

FIM PORTAL

  • Navigate to the FIM Portal Home Page
  • Under the Administration column on the right, select About Forefront Identity Manager

FIM SERVICE

  • Open a Windows Explorer Window and Navigate to %programfiles%\Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Service
  • Right mouse click on the file Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.Exe (*NOTE* The file type is Application)
  • From the context menu, select Properties and then the Details Tab
  • What is the File Version

FIM BUILDS:

  • 4.00.2592 = Forefront Identity Manager 2010 RTM
  • 4.00.3531 = Forefront Identity Manager 2010 Update 1
  • 4.00.3606 = Forefront Identity Manager 2010 Update 2
