Description—You have configured one or more applications on a trunk that use the same public host name and path and you receive the following message "The trunk 'trunk_name' contains applications that have the same public host name and path. Configure unique public host names and paths for these applications:"

Cause—Forefront UAG requires a unique public host name and path combination for each application in order to direct traffic to the correct application. For example, if you configure application A with host name ‘host1’ and path ‘/a/b/’, and application B with host name ‘host1’ and path ‘/a/’ you will receive this error. However, if you configure application A with host name ‘host1’ and path ‘/a/b/’, and application B with host name ‘host1’ and path ‘/c/’ you will not receive this error. In this second case, although the host names are the same, the host name and path combinations for each application are unique.

Solution—In the Forefront UAG Management console click the trunk named in the error message. For each application, open the Application Properties dialog box, on the Web Servers tab make sure that each application is configured with a unique public host name and path combination.
