Learn Microsoft Dynamics CRM

This article is aimed at employees working for Microsoft customers and partners who want to get up to speed on Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The good news is that there are lots of training resources available for new CRM professionals, but sometimes the sheer volume of training materials available can make it difficult to know where to start. So this article will try and help guide you through the various options so that you can get up to speed quickly, efficiently and for the least cost. To make the content as relevant as possible, this chapter is organised by role:

Customers

The learning section for customers is designed for employees who need to get up to speed quickly and who are generally working on a single CRM system or implementation project and who not seeking official certification.

  1. Users - for customer employees who need to learn about the basic mechanics of CRM's features.
  2. Super-Users - for customer employees, such as team leaders or assistants, who need to learn about some of CRM's advanced features so that they can help their team become more productive.
  3. System Administrators - for customer employees who need to configure and customize CRM and perhaps learn some advanced customization techniques such as form scripting.
  4. IT Professionals - for customer employees who will install, maintain and support Microsoft CRM.

Partners

The learning sections for partners is designed for employees who need to gain in-depth CRM product knowledge and who are generally working on multiple CRM systems or implementation projects and who are seeking official courses and certification of their skills.

Business Roles

  1. Sales and Marketing - for partner employees marketing and selling Microsoft CRM.
  2. Pre-Sales - for partner employees demonstrating Microsoft CRM to prospective customers. 
  3. Project Managers - for partner employees managing CRM implementation projects.

Technical Roles

  1. Application Consultants - for partner employees analyzing customer requirements, configuring and customizing Microsoft CRM
  2. Application Developers - for partner employees customizing, extending and integrating Microsoft CRM using .NET and other technologies
  3. Technical Consultants - for partner employees specifying infrastructure and installing Microsoft CRM 
  4. Solution Architects - for partner employees designing Microsoft CRM solutions
